First established in 1968, Matawhero wines defied convention and made wines of boutique standing and international acclaim and in doing so, changed the face of New Zealand winemaking forever. Since its first vintage in 1975, Matawhero has produced many excellent and often adventurous wines.
The nose is fresh, bright and vibrant with gentle aromas of cut grass, nettles, gooseberries and piquant fresh herbs. On the palate the wine is bold, up-front and zesty with mouth-filling flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries and fresh herbs.
This crisp & zingy sauvignon blanc is packed full of gooseberry and bright citrus aromas, and when you take a sip there is delicious citrus and herbaceous notes, with a lovely crisp acidity ? just an explosion of flavour.
